Hey, I'm Yvette!
In 2018 I took the leap into private practice while still working part time at a dialysis clinic.
I relied on what I learned from the agencies I worked for, tried to figure it out on my own, got bare minimum from Facebook groups, and made a lot of mistakes along the way. Nobody in graduate school taught me how to run a business.
The mistakes were costly. I undercharged for years. I skipped systems I did not know I needed, and a Medicaid audit in 2020 cost me five thousand dollars because the premade templates I trusted did not hold up. And while building my own practice, I was also working on Talkspace at the same time, juggling their text messages, voice notes, and virtual sessions in between my own client sessions, until I did the math and realized I could make more seeing my own clients under my own contracts.
So I left, went all in, and built it right. Today I run a multi-six-figure group practice with a W2 team, and I work one to two days a week. The rest of my time goes to teaching therapists like you how to start and structure a practice correctly, so you do not repeat the mistakes that cost me years and thousands of dollars.
